Kartikeya

Kartikeya on the Peacock – Original Artwork by Ashley Munsamy

This beautiful puzzle features an original painting by South African artist Ashley Munsamy, created especially for this Soul Puzzles design. Rich in color, devotion, and symbolism, the artwork presents Lord Kartikeya (Murugan, Skanda, Subrahmanya) in a radiant and accessible style that combines traditional iconography with contemporary artistic expression.

At the center of the composition, Kartikeya is depicted seated majestically upon his sacred peacock mount, Paravani, one of the most recognizable symbols associated with the deity. The peacock's magnificent emerald and sapphire plumage fills the background with iridescent eyes and flowing feathers, creating a natural halo that frames the divine figure.

Kartikeya is shown adorned with an ornate jeweled crown, flower garlands, sacred ornaments, and brightly colored robes rendered in glowing shades of gold, saffron, rose, and crimson. A luminous circular aura surrounds the deity's head, emphasizing spiritual radiance and divine presence.

In one hand, Kartikeya displays a gesture of blessing and protection, while the sacred Vel, the divine spear bestowed by Goddess Parvati, appears prominently beside him. The Vel is one of Murugan's most important symbols, representing wisdom, spiritual illumination, and the power to overcome obstacles and ignorance.

The artwork also features Kartikeya's victory banner bearing the rooster emblem, a symbol closely associated with Murugan's triumph over negative forces and his role as a divine protector. The rooster flag and the peacock together represent courage, vigilance, and spiritual victory.

The vibrant palette of turquoise, emerald green, cobalt blue, gold, and ruby red creates a highly engaging puzzle experience.
